Meet the coaches
The people who'll be on the mat with you and your family — world-class technique, taught patiently, by coaches who care how you're treated from day one.

Bruno Guimaraes
4th-Degree Black Belt
A 4th-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Grand Master Francisco Mansor, Bruno has led Soul Fighters since 2009 and has called Texas home since 2015. He has built a room known as much for its competitors as for how it treats first-timers and kids.
His standard is simple: world-class technique, taught patiently, in a place families are proud to be part of.

Coach T
Brown Belt
Coach T started his BJJ journey in 2020 with Soul Fighters.
He's no stranger to what it takes to reach the top as an athlete. His earlier path toward a professional football career — his dedication to hard work and undeniable athleticism — has played a real role in his BJJ accomplishments.
Coach T joined the Soul Fighters coaching staff in 2022, and is the 2025 IBJJF Master Worlds Champion. He has a big heart and loves inspiring others.
"I love to say Jiu-Jitsu found me in 2020, after feeling lost at the end of a long football career. BJJ was the first thing that gave me that competitive spirit back, giving me purpose to get back into shape and change my life around for good.
There have been major setbacks since starting my journey, including a major motorcycle accident. Devastated and injured, I was undecided whether continuing BJJ was still an option for me. Professor Bruno and Professor Roberto saw something in me at a time I couldn't see it, and encouraged me to keep the journey going and to keep fighting.
After focusing on rehabilitating my body, I joined the Soul Fighters coaching staff, which has been a life-changing experience as well. The opportunity to coach and compete as a Soul Fighter has brought meaning back into my life, and I plan to keep inspiring and motivating the peers and students around me.
In my spare time, I love to play video games, work out, ride motorcycles, and experiment with food — after all, I'm an ultra-heavyweight!"
Coach Brady
Purple Belt
Coach Brady started his BJJ training in 2021 under Professor Bruno at Soul Fighters in Leander, and came up through the ranks of the youth program.
He developed a passion not only for BJJ but for competing and coaching too — he's competed frequently over the last few years and has been coaching for 4 years now.
"I wish I had found BJJ and started training when I was younger, so I try to keep class as fun as possible, so the kids will stick with it and see how much it can change their lives."
